These filters are formed from a layer of fibreglass bonded between two metal grids to provide rigidity to the filter.

Dustlok 3-Ply Panel Master Link | MFG: Fiberbond

Fiberbond Dustlok 3-Ply Panel ~ combine Fiberbond Dual-Ply Dustlok media with an open structure air entering media to provide true multi-density depth loading. This assures high dust holding and long service life. The media are securely sealed around a heavy 9 gauge internal grid with two support cross wires. Four parallel seals lock the media around the cross wires. ~ Self-Sealing Design overlaps salvage media edge provides a tight pressure fit into the holding frame. This eliminates dirt by-pass common with the chipboard frame type filters. For side access housing the use of Panel Links. ~ Fiberbond Dustlok adhesive uniformly coats the fibers in the downstream layer during actual media manufacturing. Dustlok will not dry out or migrate. Dustlok renews its effectiveness by absorbing dust particles into the adhesive, trapping them on the surface of individual fibers. There is no drop off in perforemance. ~ Spor-As Antimicrobial Standard with Dustlok Panels & Links is a biocide that effectively controls growth of mold, mildew, algae and fungi on the filter. Poly Panel | MFG: Fiberbond

Fiberbond ~ Poly Panel and Panel Link ~ An economical, quality, to layer panel designed for general purpose use.

Fiberbond Poly panels are constructed from two layers of polyester media, securely heat sealed around an internal support grid with two cross wires. The downstream media has an adhesive throughout the entire blue layer to enhance dust retention.

Poly panels are available in 12 standard sizes along with custom sizes for special applications. A “Master link” consisting of 36 of the same size panel can be cut off at the length needed for use in side access housing. The continuous panel link provides 100% effective face area and eliminates dirt by-pass which can be a problem when using pads, throwaways, or pleats.

Depth Loading: The airlaid principle of Fiberbond media is to randomly disperse fibers in all directions throughout the web. This forms a uniform media of high strength and durability. A high volume of contaminants can be trapped within the complete depth of fiber.
FP Series of Tackified Media: The FP 50, FP 100, and FP 200 media have a uniform coating of tackifier on all fibers in the blue air leaving side of the media. Dirt trapped in the media is held tight by the tackifier. The tackifier cannot migrate since it is part of the fiber spray bonding process during manufacturing of the filter media.

Dustlok TA | MFG: Filter Sales and Service

Dustlok Media ~ Dustlok provides the performance of extended surface filters in a unique media design. ~ Distinct Dual Density provides high-dust holding- long service life. The coarse open structure of the white, air entering layer allows true depth loading. The orange, dense, downstream layer effectively stops and traps finer particles. ~ Dustlok Adhesive is a proprietary chemical formulation that uniformly coats the fibers in the downstream layer during the formation of the media. Dustlok absorbs dust particles into the adhesive, trapping them on the surface of individual fibers. Dustlok will not dry out or migrate. Operating temperatures up to 200°F do not affect performance. ~ Spor-Ax Antimicrobial is a biocide that effectively controls growth of mold, mildew, algae and fungi on filters. Filters with Spor-Ax do not support microbial growth. Spor-Ax will not off gas, migrate or leach into the airstream.

Type 3 | MFG: Flame Gard

Flame Gard ~ Aluminum Baffle Filter ~ 94% EFFICIENT AT GREASE EXTRACTION: As tested by Underwriters Laboratories of Canada it has been proven that Flame Gard I grease filters have the highest rate of grease extraction of any filter on the market today while still maintaining extremely low static pressures. Quoting U.L.C. File #CR1157 it was stated that the quantity of grease passing through the filter to the exhaust duct did not exceed 6% of the amount generated.” (Please refer to the U.L.C. Report contained in the technical section of our full line catalog). ~ SIMPLE BUT EFFECTIVE BAFFLE DESIGN: Flame Gard’s “U” shaped baffles were arrived at after extensive testing. The smooth, deep baffles cause the grease to drain off the filter quickly, and they resist flame penetration without disturbing the movement of air. Flame Gards have more baffles per inch of filter which is a key factor in our high rate of grease extraction and our low static pressures. More baffles mean more grease impingement area and more paths for the air to flow smoothly and quickly through the filter. These combined features make Flame Gard I’s the most energy efficient filters available. ~ TEFLON® COATED BAFFLES: Flame Gard’s high rate of grease extraction is aided by our TEFLON® coated baffles. In the same manner that grease rolls off a TEFLON® coated pan, it rolls down our baffles, out of the filter and into the hood’s remote collection cup. Because Flame Gards retain only insignificant amounts of surface grease and do not load, you will have constancy of air flow throughout your operating day. In addition, Flame Gards can be easily cleaned in a pot sink or dishwasher with simple detergent and hot water.

Mesh filter | MFG: Smith

Smith Filters ~ Are made from heavy .rust proof. Aluminum, these mesh filters are designed for the tougher jobs. Thoroughly tested, these filters surpass the requirements of Federal Specifications ASTM F872. Designed with an extra layer of bold corrugation to protect the finer layers behind, these filters can stand up to the hard handling some other lighter filters can’t. Applications include air handling units, both heating and cooling in a wide range of manufacturing plants as well as office buildings. The Smith HEAVY-DUTY Filter can also be used in grease applications where allowed by state regulations. CONSTRUCTION ~ The Smith HEAVY-DUTY Filter shall be processed from sheet Aluminum, commercially known as 3003-H14, .025 thickness, expanded from .031 to .050 strand. Filter shall consist of not less than eight layers of expanded aluminum, including a face layer expanded at .050 strand. Assembled in a way that each layer shall be at right angles with the preceding layer. Each layer of expanded will be corrugated between 1/4. to 3/8. to provide maximum dust holding capacity. The HEAVY-DUTY Filter shall be framed in a formed aluminum channel not less than .040 thickness. Holes shall be punched on one side of frame to facilitate drainage after cleaning. Handles on frame are optional.
